Middlebury Web Makeover announced on its blog today that Midd’s new website is almost ready. Roll-out is expected early February after some final testing and cleanup. (Who knew the standard student end-of-the-semester routine applied to websites, too.) While some students remain dubious about the need for a new website right now, people have been warming up to the idea, especially since a demo was put on a walk-up computer in the library for people to explore. What’s cool about this new website is that the more dynamic our community is and the more involved in the project each department becomes, the higher the quality (and the more up to date) the website.
For a sneak peek, head to http://midd2.middlebury.edu/ (or http://ezproxy.middlebury.edu/login?url=midd2.middlebury.edu from off campus, both unfortunately only available for Middlebury community members at the moment) to see the homepage (pictured above). Overall, department pages are much more standardized and its much easier to obtain information about courses, past, present and future. Completed pages so far include Physics, Chemistry, International Studies and CTLR.
I know I’m a fan of the (almost) finished product. Are you?
