Some people were raised hearing daily phrases like, “Step on a crack you’ll break your mother’s back!” or “Sticks and stones may break my bones but words can never hurt me.” I was raised hearing the daily phrase, “Don’t complain, it’s a Dry Heat.” I’m from Phoenix, Arizona, and let me tell you, while the heat may be been dry, I grew up in a blast furnace. Fortunately, since I’ve moved to Middlebury, Vermont, I haven’t had to endure such heat.
I certainly appreciate fall now living in the Northeast. Who wouldn’t like fall? Such a festive time, leaving one full from delicious seasonal treats, cozy in the crisp air, and in awe of the vibrant reds, yellows, and oranges of the young deciduous forests. Fall certainly conjures a sense of nostalgia, but lets talk weather in the present!
Middlebury’s Forecast: Will it feel like fall for the rest of the week? Well, while the leaves will continue to change, we will endure dramatic shifts in weather. It will feel like summer, then fall, then summer, and finally back to fall. Tomorrow, Wednesday, it will be 70-75 and a bit humid. A few passing showers and thunderstorm could provide some locally heavy, but brief downpours. By Wednesday Night it will clear and cool to around 50. Thursday will be lovely with a light wind from the east and a high around 73, but then the clouds return Thursday night with a slight chance of a shower and a low around 58. Friday expect an increased southerly wind, meaning higher temperatures and higher humidity. There will be a good chance of a thunderstorm Friday, so keep an umbrella or a shell handy. It will feel more like July on Friday! Friday night a cold front will pass and expect temperatures to drop into the 50s and 60s for Saturday and Sunday. Expect a more detailed weekend forecast later in the week. Enjoy the sun breaks and warm weather while it lasts!
