Barrett Smith ’13 Wins SCOCC Election

In an incredibly close election, Barrett Smith ’13 beat out Kathryn Benson ’13 by six votes for the position of Student Co-Chair of the Community Council (SCOCC) according to an email sent out earlier this afternoon by the Student Government Association (SGA).  Here is the announcement on their website.

Voting ended today at noon, and the final tally came out to 336 to 330 in Smith’s favor.  That amounted to roughly 25% turnout across the entire student body.  For more information about the candidates, see MiddBlog’s endorsement of Smith and the Campus’s endorsement of Benson and both candidates’ letters of intent.

The Freshmen Senator election was also decided to today with Graham Shaw  ’16 and Hasher Nisar ’16 winning handily.
