UN Secretary-General to Speak at MIIS

161577-un-secretary-general-ban-ki-moonOn Friday, January 18, UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon will deliver an address on disarmament and nonproliferation at the Monterey Institute of International Studies. His address, titled “Advancing the Disarmament and Nonproliferation Agenda: Seeking Peace in an Over-armed World,” will discuss the United Nations’ challenges regarding disarmament and nonproliferation. After his talk, Mr. Ban will hold a question and answer session with the MIIS audience.

MIIS is co-hosting the event with its James Martin Center for Nonproliferation Studies, which focuses on research to prevent the spreading of weapons of mass destruction.

  1. The James Martin Center for Nonproliferation Studies is part of the Monterey Institute, so what does it mean they are co-sponsoring? It’s like saying the Rohatyn Center and Middlebury College are co-sponsoring an event. Right?
